This year’s Youth Month runs under the theme “Young people pioneer in digital transformation”, reflecting the determination of young people in creating new values in the digital transformation process.
HCYU First Secretary Bui Quang Huy said major groups of tasks would begin immediately after the launch, including promoting the key role of youths in digital transformation and organising activities to facilitate young people in starting new businesses and international integration.
Speaking at the event, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasised that the Party and State always regard young people as a major social force and one of the decisive factors in the nation’s future.
She praised the Youth Union for its wide range of practical activities to make significant contributions to the country’s construction and defence.
The acting president also spoke highly of the selection of digital transformation as this year’s theme, noting it as an important and urgent task in helping Vietnam integrate deeper into the world’s common development, and said that young people have all the necessary qualities for taking a pioneering role in its implementation.
She called on the HCYU to arouse young people’s aspiration to innovate and master science and technology in order to quickly adopt the fourth industrial revolution.
Following the launch ceremony, Acting President Xuan attended a youth festival and visited village elders in Ham Thuan Bac District.
She also visited and offered congratulations to the staff of the Binh Thuan Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital on the occasion of the Vietnamese Doctors’ Day.
