The event was attended by Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and Chief of the CPV Central Office, and Thongsalith Mangnomek, Secretary of the LPRP Central Committee and Chief of the LPRP Central Office, along with representatives from relevant agencies.
The bilingual book (in Vietnamese and Lao) consists of four main parts. The first gives an overview of the historical ties of great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos, forming the foundation for the relationship between the two party offices. The second part reviews cooperative activities from 1997 (when the partnership was formally documented in a historic agreement signed by both chiefs of office) to 2022. Meanwhile, the third part provides personal reflections by former chiefs of the CPV and LPRP Central Office. The last highlights outstanding cooperative efforts in key areas. Lastly, an appendix compiles official cooperation documents between the two offices.

In his remarks, Chief of the CPV Central Office Le Hoai Trung said that on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Viet Nam–Laos diplomatic relations (1962–2022), the 45th anniversary of the Vietnam–Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation (1977–2022), and celebrates the “Vietnam–Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year 2022”, the two offices organised numerous practical activities, including the research, edition and publication of the book “Long-standing cooperation between the Office of the CPV Central Committee and the Office of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee”. It was completed in March 2025 after nearly three years of research.
According to Trung, both the general secretary of the CPV and the general secretary of the LPRP highly appreciated and sent congratulatory letters on the occasion of the book's release. Both leaders affirmed that the compilation and publication of the book is a profoundly meaningful and practical activity, allowing a reflection on the heroic historical journey during which the two nations have stood side by side in close-knit solidarity.
The book is a valuable historical document that contributes to raising the political awareness, emotional attachment, sense of responsibility, and duty of the people of Viet Nam and Laos. It also helps the younger generations of the two party central offices gain a deeper understanding of the traditional cooperative relationship between the two offices.
Moreover, it plays a part in preserving and fostering the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. At the same time, the book reaffirms the consistent viewpoints, policies, and directives of the two parties and countries in maintaining, strengthening, and further developing the faithful, pure, exemplary, and rare relationship between the two peoples — both now and in the future.
Speaking at the event, Chief of the LPRP Central Office Thongsalith Mangnomek emphasised that the title of the book reflects the longstanding and effective cooperative tradition between the two party central offices. The book highlights the significant contributions made by leaders, officials, and staff from both offices, which have helped nurture the strong relationship between the peoples of Laos and Viet Nam. Especially meaningful is the fact that the release of the book was marked by congratulatory letters and high praise from the two General Secretaries. The two party central offices will continue to inherit and apply the guidance of senior leaders in their current collaborative efforts.
At the event, on behalf of the leadership and staff of the CPV Central Committee’s Office, Trung respectfully presented comrade Thongsalith Mangnomek with a copy of the book.
On the same day, the Office of the LPRP Central Committee held a ceremony in Ha Noi to present awards to collectives and individuals from the Office of the CPV Central Committee for their outstanding achievements in cooperation between the two party central offices during the 2017–2022 period.
On behalf of the Party and State of Laos, Secretary of the Central Committee and Chief of the Office of the LPRP Central Committee Thongsalith Mangnomek presented the Third-Class Freedom Order of the Lao State to Bui Van Thach, Deputy Chief of the Office of the CPV Central Committee. He and other leaders from the Lao Party Central Office also awarded the Friendship Order of the Lao State and certificates of merit from the Office of the LPRP Central Committee to several departments and individuals from the Office of the CPV Central Committee.
