The book was authored by Doan Ngoc Tuan from Nguyen Tat Thanh University and Tran Nam Tien from the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City.

The US is a particularly important partner of Vietnam, and the bilateral cooperative relationship has grown increasingly positive and comprehensive.

After nearly 30 years of normalised relations and 10 years of a comprehensive partnership, the achievements recorded by the two countries demonstrate that cooperation based on equality, mutual benefit and respect for each other’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and political system, as well as compliance with the UN Charter and the fundamental principles of international law are the right choices for both Vietnam and the US.

This is an inevitable trend and is entirely consistent with the common interests of both countries, highlighting the efforts, determination and strategic vision of the two countries’ leaders.

With more than 300 pages, the book helps readers gain an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the normalisation process of Vietnam-US relations and accurately addresses the qualitative changes in the Vietnam-US relationship.

In the book, the authors offer an in-depth analysis of the international context and the factors influencing Vietnam-US political relations, as well as the current status and developments in the relations between the two countries.
