The appointment was made at a conference on July 29, with 100% of the delegates voting in favour.
In a speech after assuming the new role, Hoai expressed her honour to earn the complete trust of Hanoi’s parliamentary delegates.
She noted that the Hanoi delegation is very special in that the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong had been a part for more than 20 years.
The Hanoi Party Secretary vows to follow the examples of President Ho Chi Minh and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and strive to overcome all difficulties to fulfil the tasks assigned by the Party and its people.
She added that she will work alongside other National Assembly deputies of Hanoi to continue reforming and enhancing the quality of law-building activity, as well as urge and supervise agencies and individuals responsible for addressing citizens’ complaints and opinions.
