“Building Tet 2026” programme organised for railway workers

The programme was held on the premises of the Sai Gon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, featuring activities to express gratitude, present Tet gifts and take commemorative photos for over 100 workers. They are the key workforce responsible for technical inspection, surface treatment, as well as painting and decorating train carriages for the “Happy Train” project, which helps bring thousands of workers back to their hometowns to reunite with their families.

The “Happy Train” is a project jointly implemented by Nhan Dan Newspaper and Viet Nam Railways to celebrate the 14th National Party Congress and the 86th anniversary of the founding of the Party (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2026).

Previously, the “Building Tet 2026” programme had been successfully organised for more than 3,000 workers, including over 2,000 construction workers at Coteccons sites, and more than 1,000 environmental sanitation and urban drainage workers in Ho Chi Minh City.

Journalist Tung Quang, Deputy Head of the Nhan Dan Newspaper Representative Office in the southern region, emphasised that with the motto “Wherever there are people, there is Nhan Dan Newspaper”, in addition to its role in disseminating and encouraging the implementation of the Party’s guidelines and policies and the State’s laws, as well as reflecting the aspirations, initiatives and will of the people, Nhan Dan Newspaper has also proactively accompanied agencies, units and businesses in carrying out social welfare programmes nationwide.

“We believe that the meaningful messages conveyed by the programme will continue to spread, multiplying humane values for society. The companionship and connection of businesses, agencies and units over the past time have helped the Organising Committee affirm its confidence in the positive values being built,” he said.

Sharing at the programme, Dao Van Son, Director of the Sai Gon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, said: “For the railway sector in general, and the Sai Gon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company in particular, every Tet season is always a special time. While millions of families look forward to reunion trains, our workers continue to work tirelessly in workshops and along the railways, focusing intensely on each stage of repair, repainting and adjustment of carriages with one common goal: ensuring safety and quality, and bringing spring on every train.”

The “Building Tet 2026” programme, with the theme “Thank you the Guardian of Happiness”, jointly organised by Nhan Dan Newspaper and Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company, will be implemented nationwide from December 2025 to February 2026. The programme is expected to present more than 30,000 Tet gifts to workers, while also organising various activities to care for their material and spiritual life, such as health check-ups, haircuts for Tet and taking commemorative photo, contributing to bringing a warm, sufficient and fulfilling Tet for workers.

This is the fourth year the programme has been implemented, continuing to spread humanitarian values and demonstrating long-term companionship in caring for workers, who directly contribute to the construction, preservation and operation of urban areas.

“Building Tet 2026” will be carried out at 72 Coteccons construction sites nationwide, and environmental sanitation and urban drainage workers in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Ha Noi. The activities are organised in coordination with ministries, sectors, press agencies, mass organisations, businesses and volunteers, contributing to expanding the scale and improving the social effectiveness of the programme.
