Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung hosted the event, according to the governmental portal.
At the workshop, delegates affirmed the outstanding results in marine economic development in the recent years, especially in tourism, fishing and seafood processing, infrastructure development for coastal economic zones, and environmental protection, as well as the response to climate change and rising sea levels.
They also pointed out the remaining issues and limitations in the development of the marine economy, while proposing solutions to enhance the sustainable development of the marine economy, coupled with ensuring national defence and security, environmental protection, and an effective response to climate change and rising sea levels.
Participants also exchanged experiences on sustainable marine development in localities so that any successes can be replicated on a nationwide scale in the coming time.
