Taking place on a national scale until January 1, 2022, this event features both traditional and e-commerce trading activities in order to create a spill-over effect and attract the full participation of a large number of enterprises operating in various fields across the country.

Addressing the launch ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai expressed his belief that with the response of localities, manufacturers, enterprise business associations and especially from the tens of millions of Vietnamese consumers, the Vietnam Grand Sale 2021 will contribute to promoting domestic sales while increasing the total retail revenue of goods and services.

The event also sought to help businesses resume operations to boost production and business activities in the post-COVID-19 pandemic period, thus facilitating the country's economic recovery, he added.

The Vietnam Grand Sale was first organised from July 1-31, 2020, with around 27,450 promotional programmes, attracting great enthusiastic response from many business communities and customers.

According to the General Statistics Office, the total retail sales and services revenue in July 2020 reached 431.9 trillion VND (19 billion USD), up 3.3 percent month-on-month, and 4.3 percent year-on-year.
