According to the Vietnam Commercial Service in Cambodia, Vietnam’s exports to Cambodia fetched over US$1 billion while its imports were US$253 million in the four-month period.

Some Vietnamese commodities saw double increases in export turnover, including fruit and vegetables, and fibre.

However, the export turnover of high-value products such as oil and gas, and steel dropped compared to the same period last year.

During the period, Cambodia’s exports to Vietnam slightly increased with such staples as corn, tobacco materials, rubber, and wooden products.

Vietnam is now Cambodia’s second largest trade partner with two-way trade recording US$3.3 billion in 2012, up 17 percent against the previous year.
