Hosted by the Lang Son Provincial People's Committee under the theme of "Lang Son - A successful destination for investors," the event attracted over 500 delegates who are leaders from central agencies, as well as investors and representatives from domestic and foreign businesses.
Speaking at the conference, PM Phuc highly praised Lang Son’s efforts in attract investment into the northern mountainous province. He hailed the local authorities and people in overcoming difficulties and challenges to achieve significant achievements in socio-economic development. Particularly, the province has coordinated with the Ministry of Transport and investors to open to the traffic the Bac Giang - Lang Son Highway, contributing to creating favourable conditions to attract more investors to the province.
Noting that border-gate economy and tourism are part of the untapped potentials of the province, PM Phuc urged Lang Son to develop mechanism to link the border provinces to create a strong economic corridor along the border, contributing to the people’s improved lives and the national defence in border areas.
In addition, it was asked to focus resources on economic development with three main pillars, namely, border gate economy, sustainable tourism combined with smart agriculture and export processing industry.

The province needs to continue to improve the investment environment, with a focus on public administration reform and improve the capacity of the local officials, as well as better promoting the Industry 4.0.
Another important task is to implement well social security policies, improve the quality of education and healthcare for the local people and attract them to the border economic areas, while attaching importance to national security and defence and preventing cross-border trade fraud by cooperating with the neighbouring countries to build a border of peace, friendship and cooperation for development, the PM stressed.
At the conference, there were over 100 projects approved for investment, as well as being granted investment registration certificates and signing investment cooperation agreements with a total capital of over VND100 trillion.
On the occasion, in the afternoon of the same day, PM Phuc chaired a working session with key provincial leaders on the local socio-economic development and national security and defence fields, as well as discussing solutions to better implement investment projects in Lang Son.
