Trade resumes at border checkpoints in Quang Ninh province

The trading of goods between Vietnam and China at border gates in Quang Ninh province is recovering after China re-opened the checkpoints, according to local customs authorities.

At Mong Cai checkpoint, customs has handled 483 export-import declaration forms since the re-opening of the Bac Luan II Bridge, as per data on February 24.

All 253 of the trucks carrying goods through the crossing strictly followed the procedures to prevent Covid-19 and were quickly cleared by customs authorities.

Export revenue through Mong Cai checkpoint has reached VND35 billion (US$1.5 million) while imports have been estimated at VND38 billion (US$1.6 million).

Meanwhile, at Hoanh Mo border gate, also in Quang Ninh province, customs authorities have processed 23 declaration forms with total import turnover of US$886,000.

Since the start of 2020 to February 23, the Hoang Mo checkpoint has handled a total of 114 declaration forms, clearing goods worth a total of US$3.6 million, down 59.32% compared with the same period of 2019.
