Binh Duong hosts investment promotion conference with Italian enterprises

The Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee in coordination with Becamex IDC Corporation held an online investment promotion conference with Italian enterprises on May 27

The event saw the participation of Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Hung Dung, and leaders of Becamex IDC Corporation, Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City Dante Brandi, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Nguyen Thi Bich Hue, as well as the leaders of several unions of chambers of commerce in Italy, and Italian enterprises.

Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Hung Dung welcomed Italian enterprises seeking business opportunities and investment in Vietnam and Binh Duong Province in particular.

He expressed his hope that Binh Duong and Becamex IDC Corporation will continue receiving positive cooperation from the Emilia-Romagna and Veneto regions as well as other Italian partners in 2021 and the coming years.

Participants at the conference were briefed on the province’s business environment as well as projects developed by Becamex IDC Corporation, which meet the Italian investors’ needs.

According to local authorities, Binh Duong has attracted nearly 4,000 FDI projects with total registered capital of US$36.5 billion as of May this year, including eight Italian projects worth nearly US$ 64 million.

Italy currently ranks 29th out of 65 countries and territories investing in the province, with most of the investment pouring into such fields as manufacturing, processing, and production of footwear accessories, handbags and consumer goods, among others.

At the event, a Memorandum of Understanding on investment promotion programme was signed between Becamex IDC and the unions of chambers of commerce in Emilia-Romgana and Veneto regions as well as the Italy-Vietnam chamber of commerce in Torino.
