This massive nationwide event was launched by Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Security. Through this inspiring initiative, Ca Mau aims to promote the campaign “All people practise physical training following the great example of Uncle Ho” and to spread a vibrant spirit of sports and health improvement among armed forces personnel, officials, students, and the general public, fostering a truly healthy and dynamic society.
The provincial-level walking event in Ca Mau will take place at 6:00 AM on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the Happy Home Ca Mau Urban Area (located on Tran Hung Dao Street, Tan Thanh Ward, Ca Mau Province).
The main event venue is expected to attract approximately 5,000 participants, including police and military personnel, students, civil servants, public employees, businesspeople, representatives from the business community, and a large number of residents from four wards: An Xuyen, Tan Thanh, Ly Van Lam, and Hoa Thanh.
The simultaneous start of the walk will take place at 6:30 AM. Participants are encouraged to wear sportswear featuring the colours of the national flag (red with a yellow star). At the conclusion of the event, the organisers will announce the results, participation figures, and any Guinness World Records established.
In 2025, the event saw enthusiastic responses across all 34 provinces and cities, with participation from 3,121 out of 3,321 communes, wards, and special zones. The programme drew 1,112,336 participants at venues nationwide.
Notably, 261,404,515 steps were recorded online. Combining both in-person and online participation, a total of 6 billion steps were accumulated nationwide.
These remarkable achievements lay a robust foundation for the programme to continue in 2026 on a much larger scale and with a more ambitious target. Under the inspiring message “10 billion green steps — For a sustainable Viet Nam,” every step is intended not only to contribute to better personal health but also to become a tangible action towards building a greener lifestyle and strengthening deep-rooted community spirit.
