An incense offering ceremony was held at the Hung Kings Memorial Site in the National Historical and Cultural Park in Thu Duc City on April 29, the tenth day of the third lunar month, to commemorate the Hung Kings, the legendary ancestors of Vietnam.
Politburo member and Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Nen, other leaders and former leaders of the City, and many intellectuals, religious dignitaries and people from inside and outside the city offered incense and flowers to commemorate the Hung Kings, who established Van Lang – the first state in Vietnam’s history.

Speaking at the event, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh Tran Kim Yen said that the commemoration of Hung Kings which is annually observed on the 10th day of the third lunar month is a day on which Vietnamese people, no matter where they live, turn their hearts to the homeland and express gratitude to the Hung Kings, the founders of the Vietnamese nation. The reign of Hung Kings is an important period in the history of Vietnam, setting up the country's foundation.
The ceremony commemorating Hung Kings also included processions, offerings of fruits, Chung cake (square glutinous rice cake) and Giay cake (glutinous rice cake), performances of traditional music, folk games, and an exhibition of Vietnamese costumes.
The delegation of the city’s leaders also offered incense and flowers to the army commander and excellent administrator Nguyen Huu Canh, who earned great merits in exploring the southern land of the country.
In addition, many districts in the city such as District 1, District 6 also organised ceremony to commemorate the death anniversary of Hung Kings with many rich and diverse activities.
* On the same day, a ceremony to commemorate Hung Kings, the legendary ancestors of Vietnam also took place at Au Lac Temple, within the Prenn Waterfall tourist area, Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province, attracting the participation of large numbers of locals and tourists.

Reading the eulogy, Tran Duc Quan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Council of Lam Dong Province, expressed the Vietnamese people’s deep gratitude to the Hung Kings, who established Van Lang – the first state in Vietnam’s history, and other ancestors who defended the country. He also reported on Lam Dong Province's recent achievements in reforms, integration, and development.

On this occasion, the Prenn Waterfall tourist area is open for free to serve tourists and locals who come to offer flowers, incense to the Hung Kings and experience folk games, art performances, and food markets.
* A commemoration took place at the Dai Hung historical relic site in Hong Linh Town, Ha Tinh Province, on April 29 to pay tribute to the Hung Kings.
The ceremony featured a range of cultural and artistic activities to stimulate patriotism and national pride, while preserving and promoting the cultural values of traditional festivals.
* On the same day, the local administration and people in Binh Duong province attended a ceremony to commemorate the Hung Kings at the Hung Kings Temple - Binh Duong, Ben Cat Town, Binh Duong Province.
