The delegation of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, led by member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Hai Ninh, paid tribute to fallen soldiers in the Gac Ma battle. Meanwhile, the delegation of Naval Region 4 was led by Colonel Nguyen Van Bach and Rear Admiral Ngo Van Thuan, Commander and Political Commissar of the region.
On this occasion, the soldiers and people of Truong Sa Island District also had many meaningful activities, such as visiting monuments, courses to learn about the history, offering incense, and laying wreaths to pay gratitude to the heroic fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the cause of national construction and defence.

This is a meaningful activity that not only shows gratitude to fallen soldiers for their heroic sacrifices but is also an opportunity to educate the nation’s traditions and history, patriotism and respect for previous generations among all people, especially the youths.
The event also contributes to consolidating the will, faith and spirit of officers, soldiers and people, especially younger generations, towards upholding the spirit of combat readiness and determination to complete all tasks.
* Also, on the same day, the Da Nang City Navy Veterans’ Association held a solemn ceremony at Man Quang Bay, Son Tra District, to commemorate the fallen soldiers at Gac Ma Reef on the 36th anniversary of the Gac Ma battle (March 14, 1988-2024).

The ceremony aims to commemorate the heroic fallen soldiers for their great contributions and sacrifices towards the task of protecting the country’s sacred sovereignty over the seas and islands.
