Nhan Dan Newspaper donates 500 million VND to support localities affected by storms and floods

A delegation from Nhan Dan Newspaper, led by Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh, presented a donation of 500 million VND to support localities and people in areas affected by Typhoon No.3 and the prolonged heavy rains and floods at the headquarters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee in Hanoi on September 16.

In response to the call from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the leaders of Nhan Dan Newspaper initiated a fundraising campaign within the agency to support those affected by the storms and floods.

Party Central Committee (PCC) member and Nhan Dan Newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh, who is also Deputy Head of PCC’s Commission for Communications and Education and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, said that in addition to the 300 million VND contributed by 830 staff members of the newspaper, further funds were raised through other sources, bringing the total donation to

The donation reflects Nhan Dan Newspaper's commitment to join the nationwide efforts to support those affected by natural disasters in overcoming difficulties and stabilising their lives, said Minh.

Additionally, Nhan Dan Newspaper plans to hold a concert featuring the renowned world-famous band Bond on October 5. This event is part of the "Good Morning Vietnam" series organised by Nhan Dan Newspaper in cooperation with IB Group since 2023.

Minh announced that all proceeds from ticket sales for this event will be donated to support communities in northern provinces affected by Typhoon Yagi and the subsequent severe flooding.

At the event, Politburo member, Secretary of the PCC and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien gave sincere thanks to Nhan Dan Newspaper for their contribution and also extended his appreciation to all media agencies for their comprehensive coverage, which has supported the national effort in disaster prevention and response.
