Ceremony marks 120th birth anniversary of Nguyen Luong Bang

A ceremony marking the 120th birth anniversary of comrade Nguyen Luong Bang, an outstanding senior leader of the Party and the Vietnamese Revolution, was held in Hai Duong City on March 28.

The event saw the presence of Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council and Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.

Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang was one of the first members of the Communist Party of Vietnam and a typical senior leader of the Party and the Vietnamese Revolution.

He was assigned to hold many important roles, such as Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic – Finance Commission, General Director of the National Bank of Vietnam, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Soviet Union, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission, Government Inspector General, Vice President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, and Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

In his speech, Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang said that Nguyen Luong Bang was born into a poor, patriotic Confucian family in Dong Village, Thanh Tung Commune, Thanh Mien District, Hai Duong Province, on April 2, 1904. He began to participate in revolutionary activities in 1925. With more than half a century of striving for freedom and socialism, Nguyen Luong Bang was a shining example of a leader devoted to the independence, freedom and happiness of the Vietnamese people.

The Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee also expressed his pride and gratitude for the great contributions of Nguyen Luong Bang to the revolutionary and national development cause while calling on the people to follow his example to contribute more towards the country’s development.
