The certificate is valid for ten years and is owned by the Krong Pac Farmers Association.
Dak Lak currently has over 12,000 hectares of durian, with an annual output of 100,000 tonnes, in which Krong Pac District accounts for more than one fourth of the total growing area, producing 40,000-45,000 tonnes each year.
As durian is becoming a key crop, with higher economic benefits than coffee and pepper in recent years, Krong Pac farmers have made investments in sustainable durian farming to enhance the fruit’s quality from production to harvesting and processing.
Durian grown in Dak Lak is not only present in major supermarkets throughout Vietnam, but also exported to many countries and territories around the world.
To date, nearly 600 durian hectares in Dak Lak have been granted Vietnam’s certificate of good agricultural practices.
