Lang Son’s Chi Ma Border Gate sees sharp increase in import-export activities

Customs at Chi Ma Border Gate in the northern province of Lang Son processed over 6,414 customs declarations in the first quarter of 2025, up 103% year-on-year.

Total trade turnover reached over 132 million USD, a 40.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Of the total, export value alone hit 26.6 million USD, up 119.5%.

So far this year, 374 enterprises have carried out import-export procedures at Chi Ma Border Gate, a 77.2% rise. Customs revenue exceeded 225 billion VND (8.7 million USD), achieving over 37% of the year’s target.

Main exports include rosin, woodchips, dried sliced mango, jackfruit, durian, and electronic components. Imports primarily consist of fabrics, clothing, footwear, and household goods. Trade has been running smoothly without major delays.

To improve clearance efficiency, Chi Ma Customs has streamlined procedures, deployed officers even during weekends and holidays, and shortened clearance times while maintaining strict oversight of import-export activities.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Trung Hieu, Political Commissar of Chi Ma Border Guard Station, emphasised the flexible implementation of solutions to support border trade. All vehicles and individuals entering the border area are closely managed via a digital tracking system.

The station also maintains 24/7 patrols and operations, helping establish Chi Ma as a key trade gateway linking Vietnamese and Chinese businesses.
