Contest seeks ideas for Phan Thiet tourism development

The People's Committee of Binh Thuan Province held a ceremony on September 10 to announce the contest "Vietnam aspiration: Making Phan Thiet the world's leading MICE and Wellness tourism destination by 2045".

This contest is hosted by the People's Committee of Binh Thuan Province and sponsored by Novaland Group with the desire to find and select excellent and feasible ideas and initiatives from organisations and individuals around the world for development planning in order to make Phan Thiet become the world's leading MICE and Wellness tourism destination.

At the same time, the contest aims to help Binh Thuan Province determine its investment orientations, calling for investment attraction projects suitable for strongly developing this type of high-quality tourism, turning Phan Thiet into the world's leading MICE and Wellness tourism destination by 2045.

Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh said that Binh Thuan is developing the main tourist product lines as "green" tourism, tourism activities associated with preserving and promoting the values ​​of natural resources and protecting the environment; cultural tourism associated with festivals, sightseeing and learning about community life, and traditional craft villages; agriculturaltourism products and forest-sea-sand dunes ecology; and new types of tourism including the development of resort tourism associated with MICE tourism (meetings, incentives, conferences, and events),and medical and wellness tourism.

The ceremony is to introduce and widely inform about the Contest and is an opportunity to promote Phan Thiet-Binh Thuan tourism with standard facilities for MICE tourism and wellness tourism.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Director of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Nguyen Trung Khanh said that MICE tourism is a potential type of tourism that is focused not only on Binh Thuan Province but also on Vietnam and the world in general.

At the ceremony, the contest organisers introduced the composition of the jury, the topic, the contest rules and the prize structure. Accordingly, the contest has two themes: MICE tourism, and wellness tourism.
