Vietnam’s tourism sector served around 8 million visitors during National Reunification Day holiday, which was celebrated from April 24 to May 1, marking a year-on-year increase of 14.2%.

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the average room occupancy at accommodation establishments nationwide reached 60%, and even up to 95%-100% in some coastal destinations.

Most of key tourist markets in Vietnam recorded increase in the number of visitors as compared to the same period last year. The scorching weather in the whole country made coastal localities become most favourite destinations during the five-day holiday.

Thanh Hoa greeted the largest number of visitors with 1.52 million, and a revenue of 3.805 trillion VND, a year on year growth of 27.2% and 32.8%, respectively.

It was followed by Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa, and Nghe An Provinces with 1 million, nearly 970,000, and 950,000 visitors, respectively.
