According to the Quang Tri Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, a delegation of leading travel businesses specialising in the Russian and Republic of Korean (RoK) markets recently visited the province to survey tourism destinations and develop new travel products. The businesses aim to bring Russian tourists to Quang Tri via the Cam Ranh–Dong Hoi air route from November 2026.

For the first time, the Khanh Hoa Tourism Association organised an in-depth familiarisation trip to Quang Tri, bringing together 16 representatives of travel companies, international tourism operators, and airline partners, with a particular focus on the Russian and RoK markets.

The delegation included representatives of Anex Viet Nam, which has operated in the Vietnamese market for more than a decade, its RoK partner A&T, and Eastar Jet. These partners are directly involved in organising travel and bringing Russian and RoK tourists to Viet Nam, providing Quang Tri with practical opportunities to tap into and expand its presence in these promising international markets.

To assess opportunities for developing tour itineraries catering to international visitors, the delegation surveyed tourist attractions, accommodation facilities, restaurants, and tourism services in Dong Hoi and Phong Nha, along with several of Quang Tri's signature tourism products.

Leading travel operators serving the Russian market conducted detailed surveys to develop tourism packages for sale to their customers. They aim to bring Russian tourists to Quang Tri from November 2026 through an extension of existing itineraries in Khanh Hoa, offering three-day, two-night tours via the Cam Ranh–Dong Hoi air route.

Meanwhile, Eastar Jet representatives expressed interest in exploring the possibility of launching and maintaining charter flights from the RoK to Dong Hoi following the airport's upgrade. The delegation also held discussions with relevant agencies on operating requirements and procedures.

Representatives of Khanh Hoa tourism businesses said they would continue working with relevant organisations and partners to develop short-stay tour packages and step up destination promotion. These efforts are expected to gradually expand the Russian and RoK tourist markets while laying the groundwork for potential direct flights from both countries to Dong Hoi.

Quang Tri is home to numerous tourism and hospitality businesses offering four- and five-star accommodation, entertainment complexes, and attractive coastal landscapes. These facilities are expected to become appealing stops on journeys through central Viet Nam, helping meet the needs of international visitors, particularly those from Russia and the RoK.
