COSVN propaganda department awarded ‘Hero of the People’s Armed Forces’ title

The propaganda department of the Central Office for South Vietnam (COSVN) was conferred with the ‘Hero of the People’s Armed Forces’ title at a ceremony held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 15, in recognition of its outstanding contributions during the anti-US resistance war.

The event was attended by Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and standing member of the Party Central Committee's (PCC’s) Secretariat, and Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member and head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education.

In his address, Politburo member Le Hong Anh affirmed that during the anti-US resistance war for national salvation, the COSVN propaganda department always stood firm, spearheaded positions on the political and ideological front, and strived to realise all assigned tasks.

He urged the propaganda sector to uphold its traditions, actively participate in Party building and enhancing Party leadership, and constantly reform its operations in order to improve communication quality and implement its consultation tasks for the Party on political, ideological and cultural issues.

Speaking at the event, Politburo member Dinh The Huynh affirmed it was a great honour for the generations of the COSVN propaganda department officials to receive the title from the Party and State, hailing it as a source of pride and encouragement for the whole communications and education sector.

He also stressed the need for the propaganda sector to renovate its operational methods to continue implementing well its consultation tasks in the new situation.
