At the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House at the E2 Hill Relic Site in Dien Bien Phu Ward, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and his delegation, in a solemn and sacred atmosphere, expressed their boundless gratitude and affirmed that they would always remember his teachings on preserving solidarity and unity throughout the Party and among the people, continuously pursuing innovation and creativity, and wholeheartedly serving the Fatherland and the people.
Before the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh, the Prime Minister and members of the delegation pledged to continuously cultivate and improve themselves, set an example in studying and following the thought, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh, enhance their political mettle and professional competence, and unite in building a modern, facilitating Government dedicated to serving the people. They also expressed their determination to lead the country into a period of breakthrough development towards strength, prosperity, civilisation and happiness.
The project to build the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House and add several facilities to the E2 Hill Relic Site was approved by the Dien Bien Provincial People’s Committee in 2025 and commenced in June 2025. The project has total investment of 35 billion VND, provided by Ho Chi Minh City. The Memorial House was designed in traditional Vietnamese architectural style, in harmony with the natural landscape and historical setting of the relic site. It combines reinforced concrete structures with traditional timber construction, ensuring durability, solemnity and sacredness.
The Prime Minister and his delegation then offered incense to heroic martyrs at the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Martyrs’ Temple.
In a solemn atmosphere, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and members of the delegation respectfully bowed in remembrance and gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap—the elder brother of the heroic Viet Nam People’s Army—and the heroic martyrs who courageously fought and sacrificed their lives on the heroic land of Dien Bien Phu.
The Dien Bien Phu Victory was a glorious feat, a brilliant milestone and an immortal epic of the Vietnamese nation, carrying immense significance and exerting a profound influence on struggles for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress worldwide.
Construction of the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Martyrs’ Temple began on March 13, 2021, marking the 67th anniversary of the opening of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, and was completed in 2022. The project contributed to implementing the approved scheme on preserving, restoring and promoting the value of the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Special National Historical Relic Site.
The Prime Minister and his delegation then paid tribute at the A1 National Martyrs’ Cemetery.
In a solemn, sacred and deeply moving atmosphere, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and members of the delegation respectfully bowed before the spirits of the heroic martyrs who courageously fought and sacrificed their lives on the heroic land of Dien Bien Phu.
So that the Fatherland could blossom in independence and bear the fruit of freedom, generations of young people answered its sacred call, set aside their youth and went to the battlefield. They remain forever in the Muong Thanh Valley, their blood and bones becoming part of the motherland, adding lustre to the national flag and enriching the homeland.
Built in 1958 and renovated and upgraded several times, the A1 National Martyrs’ Cemetery lies about 100 metres south of the A1 Hill Historical Relic Site. It is the resting place of 644 soldiers who courageously fought and sacrificed their lives in the historic Dien Bien Phu Campaign of 1954.
Seventy years ago, under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh —the eminent leader and Hero of National Liberation — the Vietnamese armed forces and people fought courageously in the decisive battle of Dien Bien Phu, securing a decisive victory that brought the nation’s resistance war to complete triumph. The Dien Bien Phu Victory will forever remain an immortal epic — “a brilliant golden milestone” in the history of the Vietnamese nation and country.
On the same morning, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and his delegation visited the family of Phi Huong Dung, a war invalid with a 42% disability rating and a former resistance participant affected by toxic chemicals at a level of 41–60%, in Van Minh Residential Quarter, Dien Bien Phu Ward.
