The event aims to celebrate Phu Yen's 412th anniversary of establishment and development (1611-2023), and the 48th anniversary of the liberation of Phu Yen (April 1, 1975 - 2023).
The Culture-Tourism Week is scheduled to run until April 7 in Tuy Hoa City and some other localities in the province.
The main activities taking place during the week include a festival of bands and music groups; a food and specialty fair; a Bai Choi art performance; and more.
Phu Yen is one of the most beautiful provinces in the central region of the country. It has nearly 190km of coastline bordered with zigzag mountains and dotted with many bays, lagoons, cliffs, and reefs.
Remembering Phu Yen, visitors often think of Ghenh Da Dia, with its overlapped rocky plates, in An Ninh Dong Commune, Tuy An District. It is truly a strange geological scene that is said to be second-to-none in Vietnam. Seen from afar, it is close to the coast and always splashed by sea waves, the rocky columns look like a huge beehive, built with many interlocking layers of rocky plates of different shapes and sizes.
Meanwhile, O Loan Lagoon, a national-level beauty-spot also in Tuy An District, attracts visitors with its romantic atmosphere. Seen from above, the lake looks like a big bird ready to fly to the take off with its huge wings. There are lots of special aquatic products living in the lake. Of which, the O Loan blood cockles are particularly well known in the region.
Going southwards, Vung Ro Bay in Hoa Xuan Nam Commune of Dong Hoa District has deep blue water. The bay is surrounded by Ca Pass, Da Bia Mountain, and Hon Ba Mountain. Visitors can take tours to explore the beauty of the ocean or climb Da Bia Mountain, which is always covered in white mist.
Not too far from Vung Ro Bay is Dai Lanh Cape, the easternmost pole of the country’s mainland, where the first rays of the dawn come to the S-shaped country of Vietnam.
Phu Yen also offers visitors unique dishes using local food, such as the signature Ninh Hoa Nem (Ninh Hoa meat roll), girdle-cakes served with muong fish, O Loan cockles and Phu Yen steamed savoury rice cakes. All these dishes have unique flavours of Phu Yen Province where human and nature are closely bonded.
