Quang expressed his hope that the Ambassador will continue to pay attention and support as a bridge to promote and introduce Japanese localities and enterprises to survey and promote cooperation with Da Nang in the fields of trade, investment, share experiences in building Free Trade Zones, Financial Centres; promote cultural and tourism exchange activities with Japanese localities.
For his part, Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Ito Naoki expressed his deep condolences to the administration and people of Da Nang city for the heavy damage caused by floods in recent days. The Ambassador hoped that with timely support from the Vietnamese Government, the timely participation of local authorities, relevant departments, branches and units, people’s lives will soon be stabilised as soon as possible.
The Japanese Ambassador suggested that Da Nang city continue to support the organisation of the two activities: the Viet Nam-Japan Festival and the Hoi An-Japan Cultural Exchange Programme.
The Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated these two activities, thanking the Embassy for its participation and coordination in many recent organizations.
Currently, Da Nang has signed a memorandum of understanding to establish official friendship and cooperation relations with 6 Japanese localities, including: Kawasaki city, Sakai city, Yokohama city, Kisarazu city; Nagasaki prefecture and Kinokawa city. Japan is the leading country in terms of registered investment capital in Da Nang city with more than 1.28 billion USD for 280 projects.
Japan is a key market for Da Nang tourism with a stable growth in visitors and is always in the Top 10 international visitor markets to Da Nang. In the first 9 months of 2025, the total number of Japanese visitors to Da Nang reached 239,000, accounting for 4.2% of international visitors, ranking 7th in the international market in Da Nang.
