In her opening remarks, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, highlighted the significance of this year’s event, taking place shortly after the establishment of the new Da Nang City following its merger with Quang Nam Province.
“This event not only marks the beginning of a new chapter in the city’s development, but also opens up broader opportunities for cooperation and exchange between the new Da Nang City and its partners and counterparts in Japan – a country with which we share a long-standing and friendly relationship,” she emphasised.
She voiced her confidence that the Viet Nam - Japan friendship in general – and the cooperation between Da Nang and Japanese localities in particular – would continue to flourish with increased depth, sustainability, and effectiveness.
Echoing the same view, Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam, Ito Naoki, noted that with the recent establishment of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, investment into the city is expected to rise, further fuelling local economic growth in the near future.
Running through July 6 at Bien Dong Park, the 2025 Viet Nam–Japan Festival offers a vibrant cultural and artistic exchange programme aimed at fostering mutual understanding and strengthening the enduring friendship between the two nations.
More than 100 agencies, organisations, and businesses are participating in the event, with booths showcasing iconic products from both Viet Nam and Japan.
First launched as the Viet Nam–Japan Cultural Exchange Festival in 2014, the annual celebration has grown into a major cultural milestone. It continues to reinforce the strong bond between Viet Nam and Japan – and especially between Da Nang City and its Japanese partners.
