Organised by the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and the city’s Young Pioneers Council, the biennial festival, held under the theme “Circle of friendship”, took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Children’s House.
First launched in 2010, the festival has become one of the city’s flagship international youth exchange events. It provides an opportunity for children from the three countries to learn about one another’s history, culture and traditions while fostering solidarity among the younger generation.
This year’s event also marks the 64th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Laos (1962–2026) and the 59th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Cambodia (1967–2026).
The festival has brought together 120 child delegates and 34 youth leaders from 13 delegations representing the three countries. They are joined by 100 children from Ho Chi Minh City who took part in previous editions of the festival between 2010 and 2024, as well as participants in youth exchange programmes with Laos’ Champasak Province.
Alongside traditional educational and cultural exchange activities, this year’s programme introduces a range of new experiences showcasing Ho Chi Minh City’s expanded urban landscape and tourism offerings.
