The programme is jointly implemented by the Korean Cultural Centre in Viet Nam, the Korea Creative Content Agency, the Korea Tourism Organization, the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, the Department of Culture and Sports of An Giang province, the Department of Tourism of An Giang province, the Phu Quoc special administrative region People’s Committee, and relevant Korean and Vietnamese agencies.
The organising committee hopes that the event will contribute to deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership that the two countries have worked hard to cultivate through people-to-people cultural exchanges.
In particular, the stage is being set up in Phu Quoc — a tourism hub with internationally standard infrastructure and the venue for the APEC 2027 Economic Leaders’ Meeting — and is expected to provide an opportunity to showcase the diverse appeal of Korean and Vietnamese culture to local people and international visitors.
As part of the programme, visitors can experience activities at booths and cultural, tourism and culinary exhibition spaces in Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea, featuring a diverse range of activities suitable for all age groups.
Alongside experiences of distinctive Korean culture, tourism and cuisine, the An Giang provincial booth area will also be a must-visit destination, featuring An Giang’s Cham culture, opportunities to check in with An Giang’s heritage, Vietnamese culinary experiences, and a space showcasing An Giang performing arts, among other activities.
In particular, audiences will enjoy an artistic performance programme featuring the world-leading national Taekwondo performance team under the Korea Taekwondo Association, contemporary performances of traditional Korean musical instruments (Fusion Gukak), and impressive performances by artists from An Giang province and the Phu Quoc special administrative region, as well as singers Do Nam Son and Isaac.
Park Chan A, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre in Viet Nam, said: “I hope the programme will be an occasion to reaffirm the warm and enduring Viet Nam-Korea relationship as the two countries prepare to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Viet Nam and the Korean Cultural Centre in Viet Nam will make every effort to fulfil our role as a cultural bridge in the close cooperative relationship between the two countries, contributing to the success of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting to be held in Phu Quoc next year.”
