Chairing the second meeting of the National Committee for APEC 2027 to review preparations for the event, on January 28, PM Pham Minh Chinh stated that Party General Secretary To Lam has highlighted APEC 2027 as a high-level external affairs event of special significance, and an excellent opportunity to showcase Vietnam as an integrated, innovative, friendly, and dynamic country to the world.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that hosting APEC 2027 is a major honour for Vietnam and the Phu Quoc special zone, underscoring that investment in strategic infrastructure will be critical to the event’s success while also serving as a powerful driver of development nationwide, including in An Giang province and Phu Quoc, and strengthening the country’s capacity, stature and international standing.

After the administrative merger, An Giang Province has become a province endowed with rich natural resources, creating strong advantages for tourism development. In the first days of 2026, the sharp increase in visitor numbers to An Giang is an encouraging signal for the tourism sector.
