The samples were transported from An Giang to the Viet Nam Academy of Science and Technology in Ha Noi under strict management and preservation processdures.
Before the handover, An Giang Province's relevant authorities reviewed and cross-checked the records for each grave, the sampling locations, cemetery maps and sample collection forms. A total of 598 sample collection forms, corresponding to 598 graves, were prepared, checked and handed over together with the samples, ensuring that all information can be fully traced and minimising the risk of errors during the analysis process.
During transportation, the samples of the martyrs’ remains were packaged and preserved in accordance with proper procedures to maintain their integrity and prevent them from being affected by temperature, humidity or vibration. The handover was carried out under close coordination between the Steering Committee 515 of An Giang Province and the receiving unit, while the information was also updated and digitised in the martyrs’ remains sample management software system in accordance with regulations.
According to the plan, the Viet Nam Academy of Science and Technology has been assigned by the National Steering Committee to receive and conduct DNA analysis of the samples from martyrs’ remains in An Giang Province. The analysis results will provide an important basis for further comparison with relatives’ data, gradually identifying the martyrs and restoring the names of those whose identities are still unknown.
