The “Green Library” presented by Vietcombank in Phu Tho has a total investment of 200 million VND and is equipped with 10 tablets pre-installed with a digital library, e-books and learning software; two sets of reading pens for English learning; and 200 printed books. It will provide a modern learning space, helping local students proactively access knowledge, develop reading habits and foster a passion for learning.
Along with the library, 100 “Moving Forward Together” scholarships, each worth 1 million VND, were also presented to students facing difficult circumstances at Hy Cuong Primary and Lower Secondary School. These scholarships provide practical encouragement and support, giving the students better learning conditions while encouraging them to overcome difficulties and strive for better academic performance.
The “Green Library: Sharing Knowledge, Building a Strong Future” programme was implemented as part of the nationwide “Marching Forward with Viet Nam - Journey of 10 Billion Green Steps for a Sustainable Viet Nam” walking programme, organised by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee.
Following its launch, the “Marching Forward with Viet Nam” programme attracted nearly 1.8 million participants and recorded more than 10 billion steps nationwide. The opening ceremony was held simultaneously in all 34 provinces and centrally run cities across the country, continuing the success of the “Marching Forward with Viet Nam” walking programme held in 2025.
The second season of the “Marching Forward with Viet Nam” walking event was organised on a larger scale, with more agencies joining as organisers and support from people nationwide.
The “Marching Forward with Viet Nam 2026” programme recorded 1,774,268 participants, contributing more than 10 billion steps across 34 provinces and cities and nearly 3,000 communes, wards and special administrative zones. At the event, Guinness World Records officially announced that “Marching Forward with Viet Nam 2026” had set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of localities simultaneously organising walking activities to raise environmental awareness. The record was set with the simultaneous participation of 34 provinces and cities.
The NFVC and Vietcombank are supporting partners of the “Marching Forward with Viet Nam” walking programme, calling for joint efforts from agencies, businesses, organisations and benefactors at home and abroad to support the programme. The aim is to support and encourage students facing difficult circumstances to overcome challenges and make progress in their studies.
As a result, Vietcombank contributed resources and mobilised its staff and customers to join efforts in supporting the “Moving Forward Together” account of the NFVC. This contributed to the awarding of 7,000 scholarships to students facing difficult circumstances nationwide on the occasion of the opening of the 2026-2027 academic year.
