Earlier, Team No. 2 received information that martyrs’ remains might be present at a construction site within the premises of Agribank’s Thanh Co Quang Tri Branch. The team surveyed and searched the site, unearthing several bones and military artefacts including a tarpaulin sheet, ammunition crates, AK ammunition boxes, and backpacks.
They determined that the site was a mass grave containing the remains of two martyrs who were killed when a bomb destroyed their bunker.
On the same day, Team No. 1 located one martyr’s remains in Bai Dinh Village, Dan Hoa Commune, Quang Tri Province. Previously, on September 3 and 4, the unit recovered the remains of two martyrs in the same area.
The recovered remains are being carefully preserved for memorial observances. Authorities are continuing to expand the search area in both Quang Tri Ward and Dan Hoa Commune.
