The contest featured four teams – green, red, purple and yellow – formed by 12 villages in Hoa Trach Commune. Each team was comprised of 29 strong young men, who powered their boats through the waves, recreating a cultural tradition that has been preserved and passed down through generations.
The teams competed in four races over a total distance of 16km. Two races were held in the morning and two in the afternoon. After each race, the teams swapped boats to ensure fairness throughout the competition.
The 2026 Hoa Trach Commune traditional boat racing festival was held to promote local traditional cultural values, while strengthening community solidarity and encouraging physical exercise and sport.
