The event is among the activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975-2023) and the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay of the Khmer ethnic people.
It saw the competition of nine teams from Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Kien Giang, and Binh Phuoc.
The teams from Kien Giang Province dominated the medal tally, with the Khlang Muong team from Chau Thanh District claiming first place, followed by the Thon Don team from Rach Gia District and the Xa Xiem Moi team from Chau Thanh District, respectively.
Art performances, folklore dances, and a cuisine fest displaying signature dishes of the Khmer people, such as rice noddle, five-coloured sticky rice, and beef curry, were also held on the side lines of the event.
