To promote national cultural values, leverage the role of the community, and strengthen connections between Ha Noi and other localities in the preservation and promotion of heritage values, the Ha Noi People's Committee has issued Plan No. 358/KH-UBND regarding the organisation of the launch ceremony for "Viet Nam Cultural Day" (November 24) in Ha Noi in 2026.
The launch ceremony, held at Stage of Village III in Doai Phuong Commune, Ha Noi, will bring together representatives from the capital and 10 provinces and cities of Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Son La, Gia Lai, Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Hue and Can Tho City. Artisans and ethnic communities living at the village will perform and interact with participants.
Following the ceremony, traditional arts by Ba Na, Gia Rai, E De, Tay, Thai, Dao, Ta Oi, Co Tu and Khmer communities will be showcased, including gong performances, xoang dances, T'rung instrument performances, Then singing, Tinh lute playing, traditional dances and community xoe dancing. Sixteen ethnic community groups living and working at the village will also join other activities.
The programme will feature 26 cultural spaces, including six dedicated to Thang Long-Ha Noi and 20 booths promoting traditional crafts, craft villages and OCOP products from Ha Noi.
The six themed spaces will highlight traditional arts, “Autumn in Ha Noi”, craft villages, Thang Long calligraphy, Van Phuc silk, and Trang An cuisine.
By combining cultural experiences, performances and product displays, the event aims to encourage direct public participation in preserving and practising cultural traditions, while honouring artisans, artists and communities that preserve and pass on the cultural values of Viet Nam's ethnic groups.
Ha Noi will also strengthen cooperation with provinces and cities to preserve and promote cultural values, while linking cultural promotion with tourism and the development of cultural industries.
A cooperation agreement between Ha Noi and the 10 participating localities will also be signed during the event.
The launch ceremony is intended to open a series of Viet Nam Cultural Day activities in Ha Noi in 2026, helping promote the capital's role as a major cultural centre and connect and spread the cultural values of Viet Nam's 54 ethnic groups.
