This marks the second edition of the Ha Noi World Cultural Festival, jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ha Noi People’s Committee, and relevant agencies. Held from October 1-4 at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, the festival is themed “Converging Heritage – Shaping the Future”.
The World Cultural Festival in Ha Noi is an event marking the 50th anniversary of Viet Nam’s admission UNESCO. With the participation of approximately 50 countries, international organisations, and businesses, it further affirms the growing scale and expanding reach of this international-standard cultural diplomacy event.
This year, the festival features 45 cultural spaces, 35 culinary stalls, a film screening programme with participation from 18 countries, and a fashion showcase displaying traditional attire from 19 nations. Additionally, the presence of 20 international performing arts troupes promises to create a multicultural musical exchange atmosphere throughout the event.
As part of this year’s festival, the “Spreading Creativity from Heritage – International Festival Games” zone offers a novel experiential space that bridges historical and cultural values with technology and the creative industries. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is collaborating with Vietnamese enterprises to introduce and launch video games inspired by Vietnamese history and culture. This initiative allows the public to directly experience and explore heritage through modern interactive formats, including cosplay performances and dance routines from the Audition game enhanced by LED screen effects, creating a youthful, vibrant, and engaging atmosphere.
The diverse range of activities—spanning exhibitions, performances, cuisine, cinema, fashion, music, and cultural experiences—underscores the growing appeal of this World Cultural Festival.
The festival serves as a platform for nations to showcase their identities, heritage, and distinctive cultural values, while also opening up new opportunities for cooperation in culture, the arts, tourism, and the creative industries.
It is also an occasion for cultures to meet, interact, and share unique values, while promoting the image of Viet Nam, its capital city of Ha Noi, and the country’s cultural and heritage assets to international friends.
