The competition is jointly organised by the Literature and Arts Times, Viet Art Film Studio Joint Stock Company and Victoria Thang Long School, with professional support from the Viet Nam Musicians’ Association and under the direction of the Ha Noi UNESCO Association.
Nguyen Ha My from Victoria Thang Long Primary and Secondary School and Can Diep Oanh from Nguyen Du Primary and Secondary School in Dai Mo, Ha Noi, have been appointed as the competition’s image ambassadors, while Vu Ngoc Tra My from Ngoc Lam Secondary School in Bo De, Ha Noi, serves as its media ambassador.
Speaking at the event, Truong Minh Tien, President of the Ha Noi UNESCO Association, said the competition was a meaningful musical event in Ha Noi, aimed at promoting humanistic values across various fields in the capital and strengthening friendship between its people and international friends.
Designed as a professional and positive artistic platform to be held annually, the competition aims to discover and honour promising young singers from primary to high school levels. Beyond being a music contest, it also provides an environment for students to develop confidence and stage performance skills, helping guide the next generation towards sustainable artistic careers.
To create favourable conditions for students, the programme adopts a flexible format combining online competitions with live stage performances.
The competition offers a wide range of performance categories, including vocal performances by individuals or groups of up to eight members, instrumental performances by soloists or ensembles of up to 10 members, and mixed musical performances.
Contestants are free to express their styles across five main genres: children’s music, popular music, homeland and folk music, classical vocal music and international music, performing in either Vietnamese or foreign languages.
The journey towards the top prizes will involve three successive competition rounds before concluding with a Gala night. The online preliminary round will open for submissions on October 20 and is scheduled to close at 11:59pm on December 10.
During this round, contestants must record an unedited video in portrait orientation, without any cuts, edits or voice-enhancement tools. They must then upload the video to TikTok or Facebook with the required hashtags and submit the link through the competition's online system.
Preliminary round results will be determined on a 120-point scale, comprising 100 points awarded by the professional judging panel and 20 points from public voting.
The Organising Committee has also emphasised transparency, stating that engagement scores will be disqualified if fraudulent practices such as buying likes or running paid advertisements are detected. The list of contestants advancing to the next round is expected to be announced on January 16, 2027.
Outstanding contestants who pass the preliminary round will gather in late January 2027 to compete in the live semi-finals.
The final round, scheduled for March 2027, will require contestants to perform an entirely new piece, with elaborate stage productions and accompanying dance groups encouraged.
The Gala performance and awards ceremony are scheduled to take place on the evening of March 24, 2027, at the Viet Nam National Academy of Music.
