Deputy PM chairs meeting on deploying programme for developing strategic technology products

On the afternoon of November 7, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung chaired a meeting on the Programme for developing strategic technology products with priority to be deployed immediately in 2025.

According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, 4 groups of strategic technology products with priority to be deployed immediately in 2025 have been submitted to the Prime Minister, including: Vietnamese Large Language Model (LLM), Virtual Assistant, AI Camera and Autonomous Mobile Robot; 5G mobile network systems and equipment; blockchain network infrastructure and traceability applications, encrypted assets; unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).

Concluding the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the drafting agency to change its thinking and innovate its approach in line with the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW; ministries and agencies must seriously organize implementation, support, and create all favourable conditions for research and development activities of strategic technologies and technology products within the assigned state management scope.

He also urged ministries and agencies specify the list of work to be done, including units, focal points for implementation, time, and progress; as soon as possible, the assigned unit must submit programmes and projects with specific goals, solutions, policy mechanisms, resources, progress, and output products.

The Deputy PM also suggested that there should be a “chief engineer” to chair the research team to develop the list and projects. The Ministry of Science and Technology should supplement specific contents and regulations on the formation and development of research groups for strategic technology product groups...
