Deputy PM inspects north-south expressway in central provinces

Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha held a working session on August 11 with the leaders of Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh and Quang Ngai Provinces on the obstacles facing the north-south expressway project.

At the meeting, Deputy Transport Minister Nguyen Duy Lam asked localities to promptly address the issue of compensation and resettlement for displaced residents, as well as strictly comply with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s guidelines on construction material mining procedures.

Concluding the working session, Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha spoke highly of the local authorities’ efforts in site clearance and resettlement, while asking them to speed up the progress and ensure the quality of the project.

Concerning the conversion of rice and forest lands, Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha asked the provinces to review and report the matter to the MONRE, which will then synthesise and report to the Prime Minister.

Ha also requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to direct EVN to soon relocate technical power infrastructure to create cleared ground for construction.

Before the working session, the Deputy PM inspected the construction of the Van Phong-Nha Trang expressway section.
