Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung inspected the progress of the Quang Tri Industrial Park project. The project, initiated in 2023 and implemented by Quang Tri–QTIP Development Joint Venture Company Limited (a consortium of VSIP, Amata and Sumitomo), covers a land area of 481.2ha with a total investment of 2.07 trillion VND (78.6 million USD).
The project is scheduled for implementation from 2021 to 2032. Phase 1, covering 97.4ha, runs from 2021 to 2025. To date, land clearance and leasing for phase 1 have been completed, and ground levelling along with technical infrastructure construction for the industrial park is underway.
The Deputy Prime Minister then inspected the progress of the My Thuy Port Terminal Construction Investment Project, developed by My Thuy International Port Joint Venture Corporation. The project covers a total area of 685ha with an investment of 15 trillion VND (570 million USD), divided into three phases.
To date, land clearance for phase 1 has been completed. The investor is working with local authorities to carry out land clearance procedures for phases 2 and 3 in accordance with the overall project timeline, while accelerating construction of key components.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung requested Quang Tri Province to collaborate closely with the investor to resolve outstanding challenges in land clearance to avoid delays in the overall project schedule.
In addition, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung inspected the progress of the Quang Tri Airport Construction Investment Project.
The project has a total investment of more than 5.8 trillion VND (220 million USD). Quang Tri Province has completed land clearance for 245ha, while over 20ha has yet to be handed over due to several difficulties.
The Deputy Prime Minister also directly inspected the implementation of the Coastal Road Project connecting the East–West Economic Corridor in Quang Tri Province, as well as the Van Ninh–Cam Lo subproject under the North–South Eastern Expressway Construction Project (2021–2025 phase) in Hieu Giang Commune, Quang Tri Province.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung visited residents of Cang Hamlet, Trung Don Village, Dien Sanh Commune, Quang Tri Province. This low-lying area is frequently isolated by severe flooding, significantly affecting the living conditions, production and daily activities of 18 households with 50 residents.
