Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung made the statement at a reception for Cedrik Neike, who is a member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG, on November 13.
At the reception in Hanoi, Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung expressed hope that Siemens would continue to achieve success in Vietnam, especially in power, gas and mechanical engineering projects, and expressed hope that the German group would continue making more contributions to promote the cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of economics, trade and investment.
The Deputy PM praised the Siemens’ projects in Vietnam. He said Vietnam is currently in a process of industrialisation and modernisation with the goal of achieving a high growth rate and rapid development, which requires a network of infrastructure and a solid energy industry. He also praised Siemens for its expansion into the fields of software and transportation industry.
Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung affirmed that Vietnam would continue to further improve the business and investment environment, expand its regional and international integration.
For his part, Cedrik Neike appreciated the support of the Vietnamese government, ministries and sectors for Siemens, particularly the government’s efforts in enhancing investment and the business environment.
He said that at present, Siemens is operating effectively in the field of energy, especially thermal power and operation of power grids. Vietnam is not only a potential market for Siemens products, but is also a very attractive market to expand production investment and export products to other markets around the world. In the future, Siemens is looking to expand into the software industry; develop transportation infrastructure through the provision of traffic control solutions and smart city, he added.
