Fiorda emphasised that the historic victory was an exemplary example and a model that many countries have followed on the path of national liberation. It has proved that if a small nation has strong determination, right guidance, and unites to fight for independence and freedom, it will definitely win.

According to Fiorda, the key to the victory of the Dien Bien Phu campaign was the unity of the whole Party, military and people under the leadership and command of President Ho Chi Minh and General Vo Nguyen Giap.

He said during a recent visit to Vietnam, he was impressed with Dien Bien Phu city nowadays with relic sites such as A1 Hill and the De Castries Bunker, and especially the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum.

The change of Dien Bien Phu also left a deep impression on him, the journalist said, adding that the old battlefield now has the appearance of an urban area with spacious houses surrounded by beautiful and majestic natural landscapes.

Fiorda won a first prize at the sixth National External Information Service Awards of Vietnam. Also, he is the first Latin American guest lecturer at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) to discuss his doctoral thesis research on the Vietnamese people's post-war reconstruction.

He also wrote a book on Vietnam which debuted at the Buenos Aires International Book Fair in 2022, featuring achievements the country has recorded in Doi Moi (Reform) and its rising role and position in the international arena.
