Efforts made to ensure air transport safety

The Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam (CAAV) recently sent a document to the Viet Nam Airports Corporation (ACV), Van Don Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, and Sun Airport regarding ensuring air transport safety amidst the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam (CAAV) has requested relevant units to develop and implement plans to support passengers affected by flight schedule changes, cancellations, or route adjustments.

Given the complicated and ongoing conflict in the Middle East, with no clear signs of abating, and the constant fluctuations in global fuel prices, especially Jet A-1, airlines are now adjusting their flight schedules by reducing frequencies, temporarily suspending some unprofitable routes, canceling off-peak days and inconvenient time slots, etc. As airlines continue to cut and cancel flights, the demand for overnight parking at airports will increase significantly.

To proactively respond to the impacts of the conflict in the Middle East and ensure safe airport operations, the CAAV has requested that relevant units direct airports to coordinate with airlines to proactively develop and implement plans to assist passengers affected by changes in flight schedules, cancellations, or route adjustments.

Aviation units are responsible for maintaining order, security, and safety in airport areas and for planning and managing parking, coordinating and arranging overnight parking for aircraft affected by reduced or canceled flights; promptly reporting any difficulties or obstacles arising during implementation to the CAAV.

Previously, according to a report from the CAAV, Vietnamese airlines will balance resources and aim to ensure operations on key domestic routes (Ha Noi-Da Nang-Ho Chi Minh City), maintaining flights on routes serving socio-political and economic objectives.
