The NA chairman urged Tra Vinh Province to focus on effectively implementing the national target programmes on sustainable poverty reduction, new rural development, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority groups and mountainous areas; ensuring political security, public order, and safety.
Regarding Tra Vinh in general and the Mekong Delta region, the NA leader noted that the issue of households that have escaped poverty but may fall back into it is a specific challenge that requires attention, especially for ethnic minority communities.
Appreciating the goals and targets set by Tra Vinh for 2025, he emphasised that the top priority is to strive for double-digit growth.
The Na Chairman pointed out that Tra Vinh’s GRDP growth rate in 2024 reached 10.04%, while noting that the province should aim to raise it to 12-13% this year in order to accomplish the resolutions of the provincial Party Congress, complete the socio-economic plan for 2020-2025, and prepare for the upcoming Party Congresses at all levels, leading up to the Provincial Party Congress.
In addition, he urged the province to accelerate the completion of the socio-economic targets for 2025, creating momentum for the 2026-2031 period, so that by 2030, Vietnam will be a developing country with a high-middle income, and by 2045, it will become a developed country with a high-middle income.
NA leader Tran Thanh Man emphasised that the Party committees and local authorities in Tra Vinh Province should grant greater investment into education and training, raising people’s intellectual level, and improving the educational standards for the children, especially those from ethnic minority communities.
