An agreement on founding EUNIC Vietnam was signed by representatives of the British Council (UK), the Goethe Institute (Germany), the L’Espace Centre (France), the Brussels-Wallonie delegation (Belgium) and the Italian, Duch, and Austrian embassies.
EUNIC Vietnam President, Franck Pezza, who is also Chief of the Brussels-Wallonie delegation, said EUNIC Vietnam will act as a bridge between European and Vietnamese researchers, artists and audiences through cultural and artistic events and activities.
According to EUNIC Vietnam Vice President, Almuth Meyer-Zollitsch, who also is Chief of the Goethe Institute, in addition to organising cultural projects and activities from each European country, EUNIC Vietnam will play a role in co-ordinating and organising joint activities with various countries.
EUNIC Vietnam will host the European music festival in Ho Chi Minh City later this month along with the European Dance Days, European Literature Week and European Language Week.
Established in 2006, EUNIC operates alongside the European Commission. Its headquarters is in Brussels, Belgium, and the organisation has made its presence felt in 53 countries so far. (VNA)
