The photos on display, taken by 22-year-old photographer Do Vy, are an installation telling the story of an old man and women watching their grandchildren playing with plastic toys and recalling their childhood in the olden days when there was no plastic or nylon.
Set in rural areas, the photos remind visitors of children’s popular folk games and toys in the past, which were recyclable and environmentally-friendly.
The display aims to provide a closer look into plastic pollution, thus calling for a change in plastic use and improve recycling among the public.
The exhibition is among the activities of the voluntary project ‘The Third Cycle’, which is being launched in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City under the sponsor of IvyPrep Education, a member of Institution of American Education (IAE).
The Third Cycle Project targets school students, who are the country’s future generation and major actors in protecting the environment.
