The exercise focused on transitioning armed forces into combat readiness; transitioning localities into defence readiness; and organising the preparation and execution of defensive combat operations.

According to the assessment of the Steering Committee for the commune (ward) combat exercise in the Phu Tho province defence zone, after nearly two days of work with urgency, seriousness, and high responsibility, the exercise in Dong Luong commune proceeded according to plan, achieving the set objectives and requirements, and ensuring absolute safety for personnel and equipment.

During the drill, the directing force closely followed the training framework and each training position, creating scenarios and training content suitable to practical conditions.

The training framework of Dong Luong commune firmly grasped the principles, concretized and flexibly applied documents and guidelines from various levels and sectors when implementing the two-tiered local government model to build a system of training documents; each training role grasped the content and handled the simulated situations well in various national defence states.

The practical exercises clearly demonstrated the operational mechanism: Party leadership; government administration; military, police, and other departments coordinating in advising and organizing implementation; and especially, effectively utilizing the coordination and cooperation mechanism with the Regional Defence Command in defensive operations.

The exercise contributed to improving the planning capacity, skills, and combat readiness of local armed forces, as well as the ability to coordinate operations between forces in the defence zone.

Immediately after the closing of the exercise, Military Region 2 held a conference to review lessons learned from the Dong Luong commune combat operation in the Ph Tho province defence zone.

On this occasion, the Command of Military Region 2 and Phu Tho province awarded Certificates of Commendation to 20 collectives and individuals who achieved outstanding results in the exercise.
