Football: Championship leaders Wolves secure promotion to Premier League

English Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers secured promotion to the Premier League on Saturday without even playing. Wolves, who have 92 points from 42 games, require a further four points from their final four games to win the title but have already done enough to gain promotion.

After securing a sixth straight German league title last weekend and booking a Champions League semi-final place in midweek, this was another dominant display from Bayern, who have a German Cup semi-final at Leverkusen on Tuesday.

* Singapore para-athlete Mohammad Khairi Ishak has been slapped with a four-year ban from all sporting competition after failing a dope test. The 28-year-old had on Mar 12 tested positive for methandienone, a steroid under the World Anti-Doping Agency’s 2018 Prohibited List, leading to his withdrawal from the Commonwealth Games in Australia even before his competition began.

* Chelsea's kept their slim hopes of playing Champions League football next season alive as Olivier Giroud came off the bench to inspire an eight-minute turnaround from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Southampton on Saturday (April 14).

* Mohamed Salah scored his 30th Premier League goal of the season as Liverpool eased past Bournemouth 3-0 to close in on a top-four finish on Saturday (April 14).
