After listening to a representative of the provincial VFF Committee briefly introduce the biographies of the candidates, each candidate presented their proposed action programme if elected to the 16th legislature and listened to opinions and recommendations from voters.

Hoai expressed her honour at being assigned and nominated by the Party Central Committee to run for a seat in the 16th NA in Phu Tho – a land rich in revolutionary tradition and home to many ethnic groups with distinctive cultural identities and a strong tradition of solidarity.

She stressed that if elected, she would make her utmost effort to fulfill the responsibilities of a people’s representative, especially by listening carefully to voters’ opinions, concerns and legitimate aspirations in order to faithfully and promptly reflect them to the law-making body, while urging relevant authorities to promptly consider and resolve voters’ petitions.

Voters in Hoa Binh and Luong Son expressed their hope that if elected, the candidates would continue to uphold their roles and responsibilities as people’s representatives, remain close to the grassroots level, and understand the legitimate aspirations of the people.

They proposed that the NA issue laws, mechanisms and policies suited to practical conditions, particularly those directly affecting people’s livelihoods, such as land policies; policies for ethnic minorities, remote and disadvantaged areas; sustainable poverty reduction programmes; environmental protection; social welfare; and improvements in health care, education, and vocational training for ethnic minority youth to create sustainable livelihoods and enhance people’s material and spiritual well-being.

Secretary of the Phu Tho Party Committee Pham Dai Duong voiced his hope that voters would continue to carefully study the biographies and action programmes of each candidate and wisely choose those who are truly outstanding and deserving.

He said he believes that the elected would contribute positively to the development of both the province and the country.
