Japan dominated all categories for women at the four-day tournament, winning two gold medals in the singles and doubles events.
Meanwhile, the Republic of Korea demonstrated their absolute strength on the men’s side, coming out on top in both men’s singles and doubles categories.
Vietnamese players earned a total of two medals at this year’s competition. HCM City took home a silver in the women’s doubles event and national team member Tran Tuan Quynh claimed a bronze medal in the men’s single category.
The annual tournament featured 62 local and foreign players on 17 teams competing for total cash prizes of VND200 million (around US$9,590) in both men’s and women’s doubles and singles events.
